In early 2019, my wife Katie and I were sitting in our kitchen. We found ourselves in a conversation about what matters to us as a family. While we had a handful of answers — loving our two children, faith, financial wellness, fun — another value of our family we both agreed on should be travel.
We both have full time jobs that we love. We are happy with our salaries, but after all our mandatory expenses, the amount of money we are able to allot in our budget for traveling was enough for an annual simple vacation.
We decided to make a note on our phones titled, “Places we’d like to go.” The list includes some more famous locations like Hawaii, Rome, Paris, London, but also some places unique to us including Nebraska (where Katie’s family on her mom’s side is from), the Whitsunday Islands off the coast of Australia, Key West, Napa Valley, and more.
While the conversation gave us clarity on what we wanted to do, we didn’t have a strategy for how to do it. That night, I got on Youtube and I searched, “How to travel for free.” It was then that I found the world of Credit Card & Travel Hacking.
Since then, Katie and I have utilized Credit Card Points to help us cover all or most of our vacation expenses for every trip since 2019, including a 10 day trip in Hawaii, 12 day trip to Europe visiting Rome, Paris, & London with business class flights, along with free trips to the Grand Canyon, Cancun, and more.
I have since learned that while I love traveling on points for ourselves, I love helping others to do it as well.
If you want to know how we do it, you’re in the right place. Make sure to subscribe to my youtube channel, sign up for the newsletter, follow on me on Instagram and twitter, to stay up to date with my Credit Card & Travel insights.
I’m glad you’re here.
